When a licensed repair facility/towing facility has repaired, furnished supplies or materials, towed or stored a vehicle and has not been paid for the services, the Repair Facility or Towing Facility (Garageman) has a right to place a lien against the property owner under the New York Mechanic’s Lien Law.

The Mechanic’s Lien process exists to protect and secure interest for title on property when a contractual agreement for services has been made and payment for those services has not been received.

Without the Mechanic’s Lien Law, one has a limited number of options to enforce payment of monies owed and although filing a lien doesn’t always guarantee payment, it’s a step in the right direction.

Maggard Information Associates, LLC, a NYS DMV Private Partner has simplified the Garageman’s Lien application by creating one simple online form for each type of lien. Complete the form and Maggard will create and email all the forms required by NYS DMV to apply for a title pursuant to Section 201 and 202 of the New York State Lien Law to you.

After her clothing and accessory line was dropped from several department stores, Ivanka Trump has received more bad news, with the state of New York filling a tax warrant against Trump’s Manhattan store.

According to legal documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry received a New York State lien on Jan. 26, accusing her company of failing to pay over $5,000 in taxes.

Apparently, this is not the first such instance for Trump’s company. Earlier this month, critics unearthed tax liens from 2015 totaling over $300,000.

In March of 2016, the New York Supreme Court ordered Trump’s brand to pay over three million dollars to KGK Jewelry LLC due to an alleged breach of contract dispute.

Ivanka’s company was under contract obligated to make several payments to KGK for jewelry that it delivered, but refused to pay more than once, arguing that since KGK was one day late in returning certain computer design files, the jewelry was “of substandard quality,” and they were not obligated to make further payments.

The New York court was not convinced by the argument and ordered the company to pay $3,059,590.

February has proven a difficult month for the president’s daughter, considering retail chains Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus are no longer stocking Ivanka Trump’s clothing and accessories.

Belk, Burlington Coat Factory and also removed her products from their websites.

On Feb. 8, Trump tweeted: “My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!”

Both Nordstrom representatives and the company’s president insisted their decision was not political, reminding customers that the company normally rotates about 10 percent of its stock each year to to refresh it, dropping underperforming clothing lines.

“We’ve said all along we make buying decisions based on performance,” a Nordstrom spokeswoman told Fortune in an emailed statement. “In this case, based on the brand’s performance, we’ve decided not to buy it for this season.”

However, as reported by Western Journalism, Ivanka Trump perfume has become a number one seller on Amazon.

In early January, Ivanka announced she was taking a “formal leave of absence from The Trump Organization and my eponymous apparel and accessories brand. I will no longer be involved with the management or operations of either company.”

Even so, Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry will still be responsible for paying its tax debt.

I have a NY State Lien, which was paid in 2007. Who or where do I write to ask to have it removed from my record?

Try this link for info, tel number, etc. on NY tax liens

I do a lot of tax resolution work, and have tons of experience with the removal of tax liens. The question I have is who is reporting that you have the tax lien? If it is the State of NY, you simply send them proof of payment along with a letter asking for it to be removed. If it is a credit reporting agency, you may have a tort under New York General Business Law, Fair Credit Reporting Act Article 25 Section 380-j(b)(3)(f)(1)(iv): (f)(1). You would write the credit reporting agency a certified letter.

A release should have been filed automatically in the ordinary course of business. Your credit report probably shows the lien being filed AND released. You can't get it "removed9quot; until the credit bureau drops it off because of age.

Go online and check your credit report with all three agencies (Equifax, Experian and Transunion). If the lien shows up on any of the reports, contest the record online. You then can send a copy of the lien release to the offending agency and have your record corrected.

It is not clear what record you are referring to.

A public record of the lien is created when the lien is first filed against you. If it has been paid off, you need to have that payoff recorded as well. You of course want to have the lien release on record so that any title search on your property will reflect that the lien is no longer a claim against that property.

Credit bureaus will pick up on this public information and reflect it on your credit report. On your own you cannot get the record of the lien havi.
